Micro
Classes are separated by age and combine
skill building games and drills with scrimmages to
optimize learning in a non-competitive atmosphere.
Classes are for children who have prior soccer
experience.
In Micro Classes the focus is on building skills and
then using those skills in a game-like situation.
Every two weeks a new skill is introduced. The games
played during that week focus on the new skill and
also continue to build on the skills that have been
previously introduced.
From a developmental standpoint, the classes are
separated according to ages that are in a similar
their skill set, not only looking at soccer skills
but taking into account social and emotional skills
as well. It is important to note that Lil Kickers
strongly recommends enrolling your players in the
Micro class that your player falls into.
Parent’s Role: We encourage parents
to be involved in their child’s soccer experience.
Parent support is important in helping children
succeed. We do ask that parents be involved by
supporting children with hi-five’s and words of
encouragement and refrain from coaching from the
sidelines. Children can only focus on one set of
instructions at a time, and our instructors need to
be the only coach during their class. The best way
for parents to help is to support and encourage the
child to listen to their coach.
Classes are
designed to enhance individual and team skills with
an emphasis on fun and safety with a 25-minutes
instruction, a 25-minute scrimmage and a
child-to-coach ratio of 12:1. |
