Hoppers
are designed to be fun and fast paced!
Class focuses on building gross motor skills like
balance and coordination, fundamental soccer skills
and helps develop listening skills and cooperation.
Three and four-year-olds have entered into a new
phase of life. They are learning to assert their
independence and have a desire to distinguish
themselves from their parents. Hoppers are becoming
very creative and totally engrossed in imaginative
play. Symbolic play is vital in a child’s
development as it is a signal the brain is becoming
more sophisticated. Because this dramatic play is so
important at this stage, we use creativity and
imaginative play to capture the attention of this
age group. In our classes you’ll see soccer balls
turn into snowballs used to conquer abominable
snowmen and children using cones to create a forest
of trees.
Parent’s Role: We encourage parents
to be involved in their child’s soccer experience.
Parent support is important in helping children
succeed. We do ask that parents be involved by
supporting children with hi-five’s and words of
encouragement and refrain from coaching from the
sidelines. Children can only focus on one set of
instructions at a time, and our instructors need to
be the only coach during their class. The best way
for parents to help is to support and encourage the
child to listen to their coach.
Classes include
fast paced, imaginative games like Sharks, Castles
and Cannon balls, Hungry Hippos, Alien Tag, and
skill driven games like Heater Freezer and Bulls
Eye. Classes are 50 minutes long with a
child-to-coach ratio of 7:1. |
